This standard contains minimum requirements for the design, installation, approval, and maintenance of total-flooding and local-application fire-extinguishing systems that use one of the gaseous agents in Table 1.1.1.
The scope of this standard does not include fire-extinguishing systems that use carbon dioxide or water as the primary extinguishing media, which are addressed by other NFPA documents.
