2027 Dangerous Goods CBTA Training Program Workbook 1  Personnel Responsible for Preparing (and classifying), and Processing or Accepting Dangerous Goods Consignments (DGCBTATP)

Following the implementation of competency-based training and assessment (CBTA) approach for dangerous goods, the training programs designed per well-defined job functions for all the activities involving dangerous goods, enable equipping the workforce with the required competencies and associated level of proficiencies followed by appropriate assessment to verify that participants are competent to perform the function which they are responsible.

Key Tasks:

• Classify dangerous goods using the IATA DGR classification system (e.g., Class 1: Explosives, Class 2: Gases, Class 3: Flammable Liquids).
• Identify the correct UN/ID number, proper shipping name, and hazard class/division.
• Select UN specification packaging based on hazard class and quantity.
• Apply required markings, labels, and handling labels (e.g., hazard labels, orientation arrows, limited quantity marks).
• Complete accurate documentation, including the Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (if applicable) and air waybill details.
• Ensure compliance with quantity limitations, packaging requirements, and documentation accuracy for air transport.
