ASME BPVC.VII-2025 – Section VII, Recommended Guidelines for the Care of Power Boilers

The promotion of safety when using power boilers is the goal of these suggested guidelines. In this section, the term “power boiler” refers to boilers of the stationary, portable, and traction types. However, it does not include boilers for nuclear power plants, pressure vessels, locomotives, high-temperature water boilers, heating boilers, or marine boilers. For the benefit of those who are directly responsible for operating, maintaining, and inspecting power boilers, these guidelines are provided in this section. Due to their widespread use, industrial boilers have received special attention. Auxiliary equipment and appliances that have an impact on the secure and dependable operation of power boilers are also governed by these guidelines.
